HUSSARD Trouser Pocket Sewing Pattern

Jeans were needed in the Maison Fauve wardrobe. But your HUSSARD boss is much more than that. Its high-waisted cut fits the hips well, leaves the thigh comfortable and tightens around the ankle so as not to compress but on the contrary to lift while maintaining comfort. And sewn in a fabric more precious than denim, it's definitely a strong piece that will be perfect with a little top tucked inside. And as usual, the Maison Fauve touch: the very pretty pleats that adorn the pockets, and add a twist to this wardrobe icon.

Sewing level:

Advance. The technical point is the installation of the zip on a fly, and the installation of the belt.

Choice of fabric:

The pattern is made for a fabric without elastane such as denim, a suit-type wool suitable for sewing pants, a cotton twill, a jacquard (be careful that the reverse side is soft). If you want to sew the garment in a fabric that contains a little elastane, do not exceed 2% elastane or elastic fiber in the composition and sew the size below the size chosen for a fabric without elastane.

Supplies :

For a fabric width of 140:

-SIZE 34-40 you need 150 cm of fabric

-SIZE 42-46 you need 180 cm of fabric

-SIZE 48-52 you need 210 cm of fabric

- the pocket bags are cut from a 30x70 cm lining fabric

- thermo-adhesive adapted to your choice of fabric to thermo-glue the belts

-a non-separable 18 cm zip

-a button of 15 to 20 mm

- a commercial (or handmade) bias tape, the quantity of which must be chosen based on the waist measurement on the gradation table

There are many topstitched areas on your pants, for a “jean” type style do not hesitate to use a contrasting thread (often in brown, bronze tones to yellow for a blue cotton denim fabric), and widen a bit of your point for the topstitching on the right side of the garment, it's prettier.
